本研究以四個研究檢驗自我形象目標與關愛目標量表之特性。自我形象目標係指個體聚焦於自我形象的追求,關愛目標則從自我價值的追求轉入關懷他人的需求,進而促進對他人的福祉(Crocker & Canevello, 2008, 2012)。以往研究顯示兩種人際目標對於心理適應與人際關係均有預測力,但並未應用至華人社群。據此,本研究先以三個獨立樣本(研究 1A 至研究 1B),分別檢驗量表的信效度分析。在研究 1A 以 207 名參與者進行中文版量表的信、效度分析,結果顯示穩定的雙因素結構,且關愛目標能正向預測多項心理適應指標,自我形象目標則為負向預測或無預測力。研究 1B 再以 54  名參與者進行兩週後再測,顯示穩定的再測信度。然後,研究 1C 再以 82 名參與者探討人際目標和自我構念之區辨,結果顯示在控制自我構念後,關愛目標與自我形象目標亦能預測心理適應相關指標。最後,研究 2 以 76 名參與者進行回憶挫折事件的操弄,再探討關愛目標與自我形象目標與自我調節之關聯,發現關愛目標能有效預測建設性自我批評,自我形象目標則預測情緒性自我批評。結論針對關愛與自我形象目標的研究與應用進行討論。
