1-2 The study on relationships among hostility, Type A behavior pattern and health, school adjustment for Chinese children

With the total sample of 835 fifth and sixth graders, 48 homeroom teachers, 12 major-subject teachers and 835 parents, this study was aimed to explore the relationships among hostility, Type A behavior pattern and it's three components --"Time urgency", "Competitiveness and Achievement motivation", "Aggresiveness and Hostility". The results showed:
(1) About 70 percent students after experienced at least one kind of stress-related syndroms, especially about fastened heart rate, catchinf colds, sleep disorder and stomachaches.
(2) Children experiencing more stress-related syndroms scored higher on " Time urgency", "Agressiveness and Hostility", "Type A behavior pattern", "Cynicism", "Assault", "Indirect hostility", "Irritability", "Resentiment".
(3) In some classes, students' self-reported and teachers-rated scores on "Competitiveness and Achievement motivation" are positively realated to school grades and school adjustments.
