本研究旨在發展自我傷害行為篩選量表，期能對高危險狀態者的預防處置計畫，提供依據。健康與自我傷害是對立的，健康的個體基本上是不會做出對自己不利的行為，因此本研究亦希望能了解自我傷害與身心健康的關係。本研究以 1299位國中生及1132位高中生為樣本群，結果發現自我傷害行為篩選量表有良好的內部一致性及反應的穩定性，並且發現自我傷害行為多的學生，其面臨的生活狀況與生活事件會愈多，具有較多的死亡扭曲概念，較差的因應方式，及對社會支持系統的幫忙比較感到不滿意。因應方式愈好的學生，其社會支持系統的類別數較多，且較感到滿意，並且在日常生活所遇到的困境亦較少。本研究根據這些結果提出未來在自殺防治過程中，需加強學生的因應及社會支援系統的功能。
