1-3 The survey of the variables related to the learning and study strategies of junior high school students in Taiwan

The major purpose of this study was to investigate the learning and study strategies of jounior high school students in Taiwan by using revised Learning and Srufy Strategies Iventory (LASSI). The correation between learning strategiees based on sex, grade, level and educational level of parents were also compared in this data. Major results indicated:
1. The most used learning strstegied ogf junior high school students in Taiwan were scales of Attitude and Motivation. Test Strategies and Strategy to Resolve Learning Difficulites, Anxiety, Concentration and Time Management were most concered by the students.
2. The correlation between the learning strategies and the scholastic scores is postive (r=.14).
3. Female students obtained higher scores of LASSI than male students; The lower the grade level the better the learning strategies. Educational level of parents was also positively related to the new edited LASSI scored.
Some recommendations for counseling the junior high school students to improve their learning and study strategies were discussed.
