Editor’s Guideline

Guidelines for editorial procedures

revised and approved by the editorial committee in January 31st 2008
 
Article 1.                    
 
The journal of Chinese Guidance and Counseling publishes original academic contributions in the fields of school guidance and counseling on a regular basis. The editorial committee approved the following guidelines for the purpose of specifying the procedures regarding reviews and publication.
 
Article 2.


 
The journal receives manuscript submissions throughout the year. From 2011 on, the journal publishes three issues per year, in April, August, and December respectfully. Each issue includes four to eight articles. Publication order is based on the reviewing and acceptance dates of the submitted manuscripts.
 
Article 3.




 
The journal reviewing process follows the principle of anonym. All publication procedures and managerial processes are regulated by the “instructions and guidelines for the editorial procedure”, and “standards for reviewing”. Authors of a certain articles should avoid being involved in any reviewing procedures if he/she also serves on the committee board.
 
 
Article 4.











 
In addition to calling for papers publicly, the journal can invite papers on special topics. Potential authors for invited papers may involve:
  1. Winners of the Excellent Research Award recommended by the recommendation of the editor-in-chief or editorial committee members, and approved by the entire committee.
  2. Senior practitioners or scholars with particular specialty in the field of school counselling and guidance.
The publication procedures and managerial principles for invited papers involve:
  1. Invitations are initiated by the editor-in-chief with approval from the editorial committee to seek agreements from potential authors.
  2. Invited papers need to undergo the reviewing process, too. 
Article 5.


 
The current guidelines shall be administered with formal approval from the editorial committee and will be referred for investigation by the board of directors. The prospective rectification process follows the same rules.
